POWER OF ATTORNEY SERVICES

Booking an appointment:
In-Person Power of Attorney: The POA services are provided Monday through Thursday, between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm by appointment only, subject to change.
E-mail the selected Power of Attorney form along with the documents required,  as instructed. When all the above documents are received, we will prepare your POA and contact you for appointment (appointments are given on a first come, first served basis).

Requirements for Power of Attorney

The principal party must be present with proper identification and required documents as listed below:

Required Documents:

  • Original ID of applicants (إخراج قيد أو تذكرة هوية أو جواز سفر), their full address, driver’s license if applicable, and telephone number in the USA.
  • A copy of the recipient ID (إخراج قيد أو تذكرة هوية أو جواز سفر).
  • A certificate of good mental health issued by the Medical Doctor for Applicants over 70 years of age.

Additional documents needed to process an in-person Special Power of Attorney, include the followings:

  • For Real Estate: the original deed of property or a registry certificate (افادة عقارية أو سند ملكية) must be presented. Note: Powers of Attorney affecting real estate are only valid for a five year-period.
  • For cars: A copy of the car registration record should be presented. The make, year, plate number and the serial number of the vehicle’s engine and body.
  • For bank accounts: The bank address and account number.
  • For marriages and divorces: Full names and religious affiliation, and the relevant competent authorities.
  • For Maids/Housekeepers: A copy of the passport of the housekeeper.

 

Fees:

  • $100 money order (per applicant) for General POA
  • $50 money order (per applicant) for Special POA

The Consulate legalizes the POAs done before a notary public and authenticated by Secretary of State and State Department if all requirements are fulfilled.

Legalization of General Power of Attorney

Requirements:

  • Filled out General POA Form (Please follow through the instructions on the notarization process and secretary of state authentication included in the form).
  • A photocopy of the filled out and authenticated General POA form
  • Copies of the witness’s ID, applicant’s ID and recipient’s ID.
  • Applicants over 70 years of age must submit along with the required documents a certificate of good mental health issued by their Medical Doctor.
  • A money order/cashier check payable to the Honorary Consulate of Lebanon in Nevada for $100 per signature
  • Stamped, self-addressed envelope (USPS or FedEx ONLY)

Note: Any missing required document will subject the general power of attorney to be rejected and sent back to the applicant

Legalization of Special Power of Attorney

Requirements:

  • Fill out the corresponding Special POA (Please follow through the instructions on the notarization process and Secretary of State authentication included in the form).
  • Copies of the witness’s ID, applicant’s ID and recipient’s ID.
  • Applicants over 70 years of age must submit along with the required documents a certificate of good mental health issued by their physician.
  • Regarding the sale of property, the applicant must include a copy of the deed of trust. The number and location of the property also needs to be clearly mentioned in the power of attorney.
  • A money order/cashier check payable to the Embassy of Lebanon for $50 per signature
  • Stamped, self-addressed envelope (USPS or FedEx ONLY)

Note: Any missing required document will subject the special power of attorney to be rejected and sent back to the applicant.
