Passports and Travel Documents

Prior to starting a passport application, applicants are required to verify whether their place of residence falls under the Honorary Consulate of Lebanese in Nevada’s jurisdiction. 

Lebanese Passport

Process of applying for a new Lebanese passport:

Lebanese passports are issued by the Directorate General of the General Security in Lebanon.

  • For non-expired passports, applying for a new passport will be replaced by new biometric passports valid for 10 years (provided the applicant already carries the biometric passport version).
  • First time applicants in pursuit of the biometric passport must go through the process in Lebanon.
  • If the applicant already carries the biometric passport, and it has expired, they are advised to apply for a new one through the Consulate.
  • For applicants under 18 years of age, both parents should be present and affirm their consent to the application.

How to apply?
The applicant will have to fill out an application at the consulate office.

What are the paperwork requirements?
– Copy of your old passport
– Copy of your residency in the US
– 2 photos (white background, sized at 4.3 x 3.5 inches)
– Copy of your Lebanese ID or Individual Extract of Civil Status

How much does it cost?
Money order payable to the Consulate General of Lebanon for the amount of USD 600 (passport valid for 10 years)

Passport processing time

  • Via Diplomatic Pouch: Applications for new passports will be sent to Lebanon by diplomatic pouch and returned to the Embassy the same way. It usually takes up to three months from the day the application is sent to Lebanon.
    In using this method, Please note the following:
    • Status of application cannot be tracked. Once we receive your passport from Lebanon, we will notify you.
    • Not recommended for people who are in a rush to get a new passport.
    • Once it is sent to Lebanon, the process cannot be backtracked (reversed).
  • Via DHL Express service: In order to expedite the process of obtaining a Lebanese Passport, the General Directorate of the Lebanese General Security has permitted DHL’s FastTrack Service to process passport application delivery. This service is optional; it is at the expense of the person concerned, and it is available by visiting the DHL website. It will take around 4-6 weeks from the day the application is sent to Lebanon and NOT from the day you send us your initial documents.

For more information, follow the instructions on the DHL website. Please note that once you receive a notification from DHL that your passport has been delivered back to the Consulate from Lebanon, allow 3 working days for processing before forwarding to your address.

Receiving Passports
When the new passport arrives at the Consulate, the concerned person will be contacted to receive it either in person at the Consulate.

The Consulate is not responsible for any delays in traveling to Lebanon or any immigration issue resulting from personal negligence.

Replacing a Lost Lebanese Passport

A Lost passport should be reported immediately to the local police, a copy of the police report is required (please note that the report number is not enough, we need a copy of the actual report).

In addition to the requirements for a new passport, please include:

  • A photocopy of the lost passport ( if available).
  • The Original police report.
